The Asscher Cut

Named after Joseph Asscher, the head of the House of Asscher at the turn of the century, the Asscher cut is a square emerald cut. Similar to its sister the emerald cut, Asscher cuts are step cut diamonds with a square outline and beveled edges. This classic style has a quiet brilliance and an antique air, perfect for understated elegance.

Step cut diamonds have long, narrow, four-sided facets in rows parallel to the outline of the diamond. Used long before the brilliant cut was discovered, these sleek lines produce a subtle gleam and give step cut diamonds a quiet elegance with a vintage feel.
