The Pear Shape

The pear shape is a brilliant cut that can be almost as brilliant as a round, yet provide a pleasing departure from the round in a traditional and timeless shape. For larger diamonds, pear shapes tend to look more graceful than rounds of the same carat weight. A long, narrow pear is sometimes called a “pendeloque.”

Brilliant cut diamonds have triangular and kite shaped facets that radiate from a diamond’s center outwards. This brillianteering intensifies a diamond’s fire, scintillation, and brilliance giving the stone “life.”
